Winners to be announced at the Gartner CRM Summit in San Diego, California, October 31 - November 2

STAMFORD, Conn. October 25, 2005 - Gartner, Inc. announced the six finalists for Gartner's CRM Excellence Award, which will be presented at the company's CRM Summit, October 31 - November 2 in San Diego, California. The awards will be given in two categories to companies that most clearly demonstrate excellence in their customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives. This year, Gartner will also present a CRM Innovator Award which will be given to an organization for the CRM project that displays the most innovative use of CRM technologies and strategies.

The CRM Excellence Award will be given out in two categories. The first category is large enterprises, which is defined as organizations with revenue of more than $500 million or more than 1,000 employees. The three finalists in this category are Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Honeywell Aerospace, and HSBC.

The second category is small-to-midsize enterprises, which is defined as organizations or divisions with revenue up to $500 million or up to 1,000 employees. Finalists in this category are Accept Salijutveckling, Big River Telephone, and University of San Diego.

The Gartner Innovator Award Winner is Pitney Bowes.

"Today, forward-thinking enterprises have learned that success comes from knowing and understanding their customers," said Adam Sarner, principal research analyst for Gartner. "Gartner's CRM Excellence Award finalists understand this and will share their experiences and best practices for helping move their businesses forward with their market-leading CRM implementations and strategies."

Gartner analysts have selected the six CRM Excellence Award finalists and the CRM Innovator Award winner based on extensive applications outlining their CRM initiatives. The six CRM Excellence Award finalists will present their CRM stories to conference attendees at the CRM Summit, and the attendees will be able to provide their feedback as to which companies they believe should be award winners in each category. Gartner analysts will then select and announce the two CRM Excellence Award winners during the closing session of the conference on November 2. Pitney Bowes will also be presented with the CRM Innovator Award during this session.

The Gartner CRM Summit will be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.
