STAMFORD, Conn., September 7, 2004 — In response to the devastation wrought last month by Hurricane Charley and again this weekend by Hurricane Frances, Gartner Inc. said today it will provide free advice and counsel to public and private organizations in Florida whose operations were disrupted by the storms.

Gartner, the world's leading technology research and advisory firm, will provide priority assistance to both clients and non-clients on a wide variety of issues including disaster recovery and the replacement of damaged IT operations. Free information and counsel will be available until November 25, 2004 for any organization that suffered business disruption within those counties designated as federal disaster areas by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

"As organizations throughout the state of Florida pursue the difficult tasks of recovering lost information and rebuilding their IT infrastructures, Gartner has world-class resources available to help," said Chris Lafond, chief financial officer at Gartner.

After visiting Gartner's regional offices in Fort Myers, Fla., Mr. Lafond said, "In addition to enormous personal losses suffered by so many in the region, many local companies, government agencies, non-profits and other organizations need immediate help to maintain their business and IT operations and to plan for the future. We encourage all our clients and non-clients as well in the designated areas to access our knowledge, expertise and actionable advice free of charge during this difficult time."
