e-Citi's Ed Horowitz Wins GartnerGroup's Excellence in Technology Award
Horowitz Honored for Use of Technology in Business Leadership
Lake Buena Vista, Fla., October 12, 1999-Gartner Group, Inc. (NYSE: IT) today announced at Symposium/ITxpo 99 that Edward D. Horowitz, senior corporate officer of Citigroup and chief executive of e-Citi, a unit of Citigroup, is the winner of GartnerGroup's 1999 Excellence in Technology Award. Mr. Horowitz was selected for his outstanding application of technology for business value and business return through e-Citi.

The Excellence in Technology Award criteria specify that the winner has accomplished significant demonstrable productivity gains through the use of technology over the past three years. The enterprise's use of technology should make a significant contribution or directly contribute to its pre-eminence in its industry. Implementations of state-of-the-art technology should also be accomplished in cost-effective ways. In addition, the award is based on the enterprise's use of technology to enable change in internal work processes or in relationships with key business partners and outside agencies.
